AlphaGraphics in the Cultural District Grows Revenue via Cross-Media Marketing Services
AlphaGraphics is the highlight of this case study prepared by industry expert, InfoTrends. Specifically, we are an early mover into offering cross-media marketing services. Two years ago, our 11-year old franchise, with 25 employees and $3.6 million in revenue, set out to transition the business from a provider of traditional quick printing and design services to marketing services provider. As a result of the move, revenues are up 39% in the last six months compared to the same period last year.

Google Pittsburgh QR Code Signage Project
Google Pittsburgh moved into its cool new space in Pittsburgh’s East End and enlisted AlphaGraphics to design two sets of conference room signs that would pay homage to the building’s history and, at the same time, function interactively to convey important, real-time information to employees and visitors.

AlphaGraphics in the Cultural District set about developing a multi-channel self-promotion campaign in April 2011 aimed at increasing awareness of our comprehensive mailing capabilities. In doing so, we strove to educate our clients about the true power of direct mail especially when approached as an integrated, multi-media marketing campaign. The overarching objective was to position AlphaGraphics as thought leaders in direct marketing and full-service providers not only of print, but also design, mailing, and a broad spectrum of marketing services.

Net Health Systems Client Engagement Campaign
Net Health Systems wanted to launch a client engagement campaign to gain insight into their clients’ perception of and usage trends for WoundExpert. In addition to collecting information to assist with future product enhancements and opportunities to up-sell solutions and services, this campaign would set the stage to enhance client communications through expanded education and marketing initiatives. This campaign would also be the first step toward building a “community” of WoundExpert users – clients who would become brand ambassadors and sources for referrals for future business growth.

AlphaGraphics Tenth Anniversary Campaign
To mark our tenth anniversary, AlphaGraphics in the Cultural District developed a celebratory, multi-channel campaign through which we could express gratitude to our customers, reinforce our brand image, showcase our capabilities and accomplishments, strengthen our partnerships with city leaders, and give back to the community.
The campaign was born of the core values of the business—Team, Customers, Technology, and Strategy—as well as the owners’ commitment to Pittsburgh. The primary goal was to give thanks and give back, while demonstrating our talents, capabilities, and dedication.

Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania New Member Campaign
Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania (GSWPA) wanted to find potential scouts among specific geographic areas which the organization felt had been previously “untapped.” Venturing literally into new territory meant that persisting, “old” notions and misconceptions about Girl Scouting needed to be changed and the “new” definition of today’s scouting experience needed to be communicated.
AlphaGraphics was engaged to develop a direct marketing campaign designed to educate prospects about the scope of scouting programs and activities, find out the interests and affinities of the prospects, and build a list of member leads.

Callos Prospect Campaign - Connect to Win
The objective of the “Connect to Win” campaign was to generate energy and excitement among attendees at the 2010 Pittsburgh Human Resources Association (PHRA) Conference in Pittsburgh, PA, and ultimately drive traffic to Callos’s trade show booth, where valuable one-on-one conversations with prospects could occur.
Callos was among more than 70 vendors at the conference.

Healthy Start, Inc. Capabilities Package
Each year, AlphaGraphics partners with Lowers Communications to create a
theme-based package design for Healthy Start, Inc. (HSI). The project is
intended to aid HSI in communicating its mission and pioneering efforts to key
legislative officials and private funders responsible for providing critical
financial support. The package includes a capabilities brochure, an annual
report, and a related “giveaway” that creatively tells HSI’s story.

Luttner Financial Group Mobile Marketing Campaign
Luttner Financial Group contacted AlphaGraphics to help it launch and promote a new product, The Living Balance Sheet, which enables clients to log onto a secure, personalized website in order to see their balance sheets and manage their money from anywhere in the world. With a street-level office located in a high-traffic area adjacent to a local university, Luttner wanted to leverage its strategic location using mobile marketing to drive and measure traffic to their website.

Fairmont Pittsburgh: Habitat Autumn Menu Campaign
Habitat’s Chef Andrew Morrison wanted to invite members of the local media
and special guests to preview the restaurant’s autumn menu, in order to stir up
publicity and pour on culinary praise.

Cambridge Speakers Series Measured Response Campaign
The Cambridge Speakers Series uses direct mail postcards to attract new subscribers to the series, saturating zip codes where most of the current subscribers reside. But without a way to measure results, the Series’ direct marketing campaigns have been measured simply in dollars spent per new subscriber. The goal, then, was to devise a method for measuring actual response to the postcard campaign in order to more effectively allocate marketing dollars in the future.

Gateway Health Plan Prospect Campaign
In 2009, due to changes in HIPAA regulations and marketing guidelines
established by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), special
needs health plans were restricted from marketing to prospective members via
direct mail. AlphaGraphics was engaged to develop an alternative approach to
reaching key influencers who serve Gateway’s target audience in order to gain
new members to Gateway Health Plan Medicare Assured® HMO.

Valentine's Day Customer Appreciation
AlphaGraphics in the Cultural District developed and executed a multi-channel campaign in February 2010 to express appreciation to our loyal customers who had done business with us during the past year. We also wanted to learn more about our clients’ marketing needs in order to better serve them in the future.
Our goal was to achieve a 15% response rate and identify 25 new marketing services prospects.
